About Canberra Repertory Society

Who Are We?

Founded in 1932, Canberra REP is one of the oldest established theatre companies in Australia, with more than 500 major productions to its credit. REP is based at and manages Theatre 3, a well-equipped theatre with seating capacity of 188 for its own use and for external hire. Canberra REP is a not-for-profit organisation and is registered with the ACNC as a Charity. REP's corporate structure is as a Company Limited by Guarantee. Canberra REP has received endorsement as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) through the Australian Taxation Office.

REP stages six major productions each year and provides Canberra theatre goers high quality and varied works. See Season 2015-16 for our current year's season.

REP also offers opportunities for people to extend their interest in theatre and to develop their skills through participation in all aspects of theatre production. See Membership for more information on becoming involved.

In addition to our major productions, REP STUDIO gives members the chance to take part in play readings or workshops.

Many members who first developed their skills at REP have moved on to careers in professional theatre. Rep also offers members a wide range of social activities.

Our Mission Statement

Canberra Rep will provide the best range of opportunities (including social) to all theatre lovers in the ACT to participate in and develop high-quality contemporary and classical theatrical productions in an annual program for the public of Canberra.
