Applications close 15 January 2010. The Theatre Players Scholarship is administered by Canberra Repertory and is open to all residents, or former residents, of the ACT who are undertaking full time tertiary training in drama or a theatre related course at a recognised institution. The Scholarship value is $4 500.
Interviews are held in Canberra at a date to be determined by the scholarship committee. Candidates should endeavour to be available at this time. If not available, you will be considered on your written submission. The selection committee reserves the right to short-list applicants for interview; it is therefore in your own best interests to supply the fullest possible information of your career aspirations, previous experience and achievements to support your application. Funding for the scholarship comes from the club's Trash 'n' Treasure Market which has operated in the Jamison Centre car park every Sunday since September 1974 and is an icon in the Canberra community. The club consists of men and women from all walks of life who are committed to Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self. With the support of stall-holders and patrons, Trash 'n' Treasure has raised over $3 million, which has been used to support hundreds of local, regional and international community service projects, including emergency accommodation at the Calvary and Canberra Hospitals and Christmas Hampers for families in need. The club also supports a range of educational and vocational programs, bursaries, awards and scholarships for young people.
