Over The Moon

Panorama - The Canberra Times, April 24, 2010

Canberra Repertory Society presents Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig, author of the internationally successful farce Land Me A Tenor. This comedy, directed by Cathie Clelland, presents a similarly crazy situation, with a repertory theatre company in Buffalo, New York, the setting for all manner of intrigues, mix-ups, and misunderstandings.
George and Charlotte Hay (played by Ian Croker and Barbara Denham) are a husband and wife who head the touring company currently performing at the theatre. They are feuding because of his infidelity, but are also taken with the possibility of landing the starring roles in the latest film by a legendary Hollywood directed who is coming to see them perform. Their two shows are Edmond Rostand’s 17th century romantic swashbuckler Cyrano de Bergerac and Noel Coward’s 20th century comedy Private Lives. But, this being a farce, it’s more then likely things will not run smoothly.

Moon Over Buffalo is on at Theatre 3, Ellery Crescent, Acton on April 29 at 8pm (preview) then April 30-May 15, Wednesday-Saturday 8pm with 2pm matinees on May 8 and 15 and a 5pm twilight show on May 9. Tickets: Adult $35, Concession/Preview/Matinee/Twilight $27. Bookings: 6257 1950.
