Julie Barnes • Stage Manager
Julie joined Canberra Repertory Society in 2023 after completing Mandy Brown's stage management workshop, and has since enjoyed being part of many backstage and Front of House crews. She had the pleasure of stage managing for the wonderful Lizzy Darcy and Jane team last year and was thrilled when the show was nominated for six CAT Awards. Julie loves dancing, live music (especially when it's played by lovely muso friends), walking, singing, and joining the audience for great community theatre.
Mae Schembri • Stage Manager
Mae has been involved with REP for four years. Her behind-the-scenes credits include stagehand for Our Country’s Good (2022), Home, I’m Darling (2023), and Bloody Murder (2024); Properties for Crimes of the Heart (2023); and Assistant Stage Manager for Baby Jane (2025). Prior to REP, Mae only had on-stage theatre experience and had never worked on a show in a backstage capacity. In developing this incredibly tech-heavy production of The Glass Menagerie on a reduced timeline, Mae is extremely grateful to have been able to share this role with Julie, allowing her to invest time in her passion for theatre while continuing to work full-time. She is excited to continue honing her skills in stage management with REP for many more productions in the future
Edy Syquer • Production Manager
Edy is a work of fiction; any similarities to actual persons is strictly coincidental and unintentional. Russell Brown OAM • Set Coordinator
Russell has been a member of REP for over 50 years, and in that time he has been involved in almost every aspect from President to performing, set design to set building, props making, furniture making, and tricky effects. With his dedicated team of builders and painters, he whiles away his time making magic for our audiences. He was recently named REP Living Treasure for his many contributions to the Society.
Elizabeth Goodbody • Front of House Coordinator
Elizabeth started her earliest career as a classical ballerina but went on to become involved in most aspects of theatre, both musical and non-musical, on- and off-stage, for over 20 years. She was out of the picture for over 25 years while on postings overseas, but returned to assist REP in various Front of House activities, including Front of House Coordinator, and a member of REP Council and other committee roles since 2019.
